Taew and I were married May 20th, 2019, the day before my 32nd birthday. We wanted a quick and easy wedding. Our California road trip was our honeymoon.
Once we were finally married and after our long road trip, we began the process to adjust her status from student visa to a permanent resident. We sent off all of the forms, payments, photos of us together with friends and family, and then we waited.
In November, Taew and I headed to OKC for a a final interview with USCIS (US Citizenship and Immigration Services) were she was granted her temporary permanent resident card.
Thanksgiving – 2019
We went to Kansas to visit my parents for Thanksgiving.
We did what we usually do when we visit my parents. Eat, watch movies on TV, play games (usually Sequence or Dominoes), work on a puzzle, visit their antique booth, and Taew likes playing with my parent’s two dogs.
Taew also learned how to make a Pumpkin Pie.
Christmas – 2019
For Christmas, my parents came to visit us in Tulsa.
I can’t remember what I got from her. I’ve been bad at keeping this blog updated with what has been going on. I bought her a 100 year special edition kitchenAid stand mixer and food processor. It’s still in the box in our pantry. She still uses my old food processor that has a cracked blade. Once it finally snaps, she has a backup waiting for her.
After Christmas, my parents and Taew and I drove to Branson to meet up with my Aunt and Uncle. They had Holiday Inn Club Vacation points so we stayed at the Holiday Hills Resort for a few days. We went to a few shows and ate a fancy lunch at The Keeter Center at College of the Ozarks. Students work for the college to cover the costs of their tuition. The food was amazing. Check it out when you are in the Branson, Missouri area. (https://www.keetercenter.edu/Dining.aspx)
We were introduced to a marble game by my Aunt and Uncle called Pegs & Jokers. The goal of the game is to get a set of 5 marbles around a circular track by using values on playing cards that are drawn throughout the game. You can play the game in a good family fun and wholesome way or you can play the way we did where you constantly try to force the other players to reset their marble’s progress around the track.
Happy New Year – 2020?
